The Night No One Will Forget

Inspired by The Maze Runner.

Dark twisting trees lay ahead of the wide dusty track. The pitch-black sky lay covering this tortured world. Howling every few seconds made us jump, we all scrambled together tumbling over the old twisty branches. I could feel the fog creeping through, like last September night when the storm was just beginning, enclosing us like a prince trapped in a dungeon.  What lay ahead of us is unknown, what was just beginning nobody knew, all feeling dread of the next few hours. The quiet patter of our footsteps could be heard through the silence covering us like, a thick warm blanket on, a cold winter\"s night. Glancing behind, every few minutes, fear trapping us in a mystery of darkness, all of us in our own mind thinking, of the never-ending doom that was laid out for us. Not one of us saying a word, not a word needed to be spoken as we knew what the person behind us thought.  Longing to turn around, but not knowing what lies ahead is the greatest mystery of all, not knowing is the ultimate weapon against us. Dread, darkness, never-ending, were words that I never thought I would use until today. Dark twisting trees lay ahead of the wide dusty track. The pitch-black sky lay covering this tortured world.
